Emerger Caddis Flies
Caddis Emergers are caddis flies that are in a transformational state between the caddis pupa and adult caddisfly. The emerger stage for caddis flies happens fast, but trout and other fish take notice and munch these bugs as they rise or swim quickly to the water's surface. Caddis Pupae and Caddis Emergers are known for their quick swimming action and pulsating motion of the forming wings. Many Caddisfly Emerger imitations have a soft hackle or other soft moving wing material to mimic this pulsating action.
