Raising Them Right - Fishing with Kids
I was raised with a healthy respect for the importance of family and the outdoors. I was told it was a very important part in life to get married and have kids to pass on the legacy.
Well for me, having a passion for the outdoors and fishing, it made perfect sense to combine the two. So when I had my own children, I've shared and taught them my passion for the water, the importance of conservation and how important it is to keep our water ways clean.
My daughter, at the age of 3, showed great interest after fishing a kids tournament. Soon after that, it was all about baits, holding fish and what to catch next.
I have to admit she was never really a doll girl but more like the girl who liked to get into her bikini and board shorts and hit the water for her next adventure. She was always intrigued on how to target different species of fish, different ways on catching them and just being on the water.
Since the beginning, I have always been her coach and her captain teaching her the ways of fishing. We as a family spend lots of time on the water and it has become one of our favorite past times making memories we can cherish for a lifetime.
