Fall Baetis
Many people only think of baetis or blue wing olives in the spring. They are, however, great fall baetis hatches on many streams around the country. Most fall blue wings are smaller, size 18, 20, or 22 and can be a bit darker. Spring creeks and tailwaters generally have the most baetis and fall hatches can be a bit more sporadic. When they are on though they can be great. Go armed with parachute, sparkle dun, emerger, and nymph patterns and have fun!
