Don't Throw Away Those Fly Fishing Flies!
So, you left you flies in the box in your vest over the winter.
You were going to clean everything out and put them back in their storage totes.....but....life got in the way. Now, they are all mashed, flattened, and matted.
New life for last season's fly fishing flies
Instead of throwing $100 or more away....give this a try.
Fill an old fashioned tea kettle and put it on the stove and bring to a hard boil. Grab a fly with a pair of pliers by the bend of the hook and slowly rotate the fly in the stream of steam. The heat and moisture will relax the fly's wings, tails, and hackles.
You can then message out any kinks and fluff a bit.
Place on a dry paper towel to dry and you should be good to go.
Tight Lines my fishy friends!
