The Best Bonefish Flies

Bonefish love their shrimp. However, they also feed on crabs and will even take small baitfish. We all know the gray ghost can be easily spooked in shallow water conditions. Many anglers prefer lightweight Bonefish flies in the #8 or #6 range for fish in shallow calm water. When the fish are off the shallow flats and are traveling on ledges, in mud, or when there is tidal currents heavier flies that sink fast and get to the bottom are preferred.  Anyone that fishes for these beautiful fish knows that in any given day, you're going to need a variety of flies to match the conditions.

The Permit is one of the most highly esteemed fish in the sea, known for both their excellent sport and delicate meat. They are also notoriously known as one of the most difficult fish to catch, but we’re here to help you with that. Although not the most migratory fish in the sea, Permit do undergo some annual migrations events, so you need to know where the fish are as they move through the sea. They also have an incredibly keen eye, which makes artificial lures and flies difficult to use, and also makes the choice of line very important. The Permit also may be one of the spookiest fish in the sea.
