Jiggy, Euro, and Tight Lining Nymphs
Jiggy, Euro, and Tight Lining Nymphs
As we head into summer it's important to realize that trout still eat 80% of their food below the surface.
Nobody likes a dry fly bite more than I do, but if you want to insure success on the water, you’re going to have to nymph. This is hands down the most effective way to catch fish, and its not even close.
The traditional nymph is dead drifted so that the eye is orientated up, and the hook is orientated down. This can lead to snags.
With jig nymph, just the opposite holds true. The hook is oriented upwards.
This give the angler several distinct advantages.
The nymph can drift and bounce along the riverbed with reduced chances of snagging obstructions along the bottom of the river.
Hook sets tend to be in the snout of the fish. This is better for the fisherman as it gives him more control of the fish.
Our flies are easier on the fish also. All of our jig flies are tied on top quality daiichi barbless hooks. Top quality hooks to help land that fish of a lifetime and release it effortlessly.
We also use tungsten beads on all of our jig product.
This helps the fly get down quickly so you can bounce it off the bottom. Whether euro nymphing or indicator fishing, these flies get into the strike zone quickly.
