The Zonker is the classic rabbit streamer. Multiple colors, a minnow-like profile, and realistic flashy underbody make this fly an effective fish catcher in a variety of situations and water types. This Silver Black Zonker is tied with the hook up hidden in the wing. This makes this fly swim through cover and glide over the bottom eliminating snags. Dan Byford is credited with tying the first Zonker back in the mid 1970’s, and it remains a staple fly pattern to this day. Much like the Clouser Minnow, the Zonker is an extremely versatile baitfish pattern that has accounted for a wide variety of fresh and saltwater species across the globe, and can be actively retrieved or dead-drifted with equal success.
