Scuds and Sow Bugs are probably the most important and the most prolific food source for trout within our spring creeks. They are present in different colors and different sizes all season long. The tan scuds are living near a sandy bottom - olive, closer to the weed beds. An amber colored scud is dying - while the orange represents a dead scud. While mating when the water temperature is above 50, they’re more colorful.
