The Royal Coachman is the most recognizable fly in the entire world, known even to the non-fishers. I would hazard to guess that more Royal Coachman, along with it's many variations, have come out of a vice then any other pattern in the world. At one time or another, every tyer has tied one, and every fly fisherman has fished one. Probably the most familiar Brook Trout fly pattern there is, the Royal Coachman is a true bit of Fly Fishing History.
