This fly is very hard to look first thing in the morning with it's ultra HOT pink & orange. Hence it's name. This fly is an excellent choice for dark and spooky predator waters. I've also used this fly successfully on Striped Sea Bass on the Coast of Maine. This is a top performing pattern for Pike, Musky, Bass, Tarpon, Snook and Golden Dorado.
What does DriCast mean? Bucktail can be stiff and not natural. Marabou is lively, but can get waterlogged and heavy on large patterns. New synthetic fiber development has made it possible to have the best of both worlds. The fibers we use are softer than bucktail but stiffer than marabou, and they undulate in the water to imitate the natural movement of baitfish. The great thing about these materials is they shed water quickly on your backcast, up to 80%, hence the term DriCast. This means you are concentrating more on fly placement and less on chucking a water-logged fly.
These are our guide series flies where performance and durability are a premium. All flies are tied on stainless steel saltwater grade hooks and mesure 6.5-7".
